Explore Burleigh Head National Park
A 15-minute drive from our beachside location on Broadbeach Boulevard, Burleigh Head National Park offers a rainforest adventure for the whole family where getting your wallet out isn’t required. Home to regional wildlife, colourful flora and stunning ocean views, it’s one Gold Coast natural attraction that shouldn’t be missed this summer.
Take the beaten path or improvise! Burleigh Head National Park has various routes to take, each surrounded by dense rainforest trees with quiet spots to take a break. See how many local mammals and birds you can spot, then stroll to the park’s edge for a panoramic ocean vista.
Picnic in Macintosh Island Park
Near the top of Surfers Paradise Beach just north of our location, pack a low-cost picnic to tuck into at Macintosh Island Park. This tranquil Gold Coast park sets itself apart from the rest with its running creeks and streams, offering lots of shaded areas and a friendly residence of peacocks to observe during your visit.
Take a break from the summer sun by settling under a tree or find an open grassy area to sunbathe and toss a frisbee with the kids. There are loads of ways to enjoy Macintosh Island Park on your Gold Coast holiday and they’re all free.
Wander the Gold Coast Markets
Numerous weekend markets pop up on the Gold Coast each month and summer presents the best weather for having a free wander or browse. Our Broadbeach apartments boast a central location surrounded by the most sought-after markets the Gold Coast has to offer, so make sure to visit at least one or two during your stay!
These include the Broadbeach Art and Craft Markets on Broadbeach Boulevard every first and third Sunday, the Surfers Paradise Beachfront Markets every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday night, and the famous Burleigh Heads Village Markets at Burleigh State School, also held every first and third Sunday. Integrate with the local community and, if you’ve got leftover notes and coins, pick up cheap handmade souvenirs and crafts.
See the Coast on a Bike
Take your bike on holiday for the best cost-free way to see the coast this summer. Starting from our location on the Broadbeach beachfront, pedal north to pass Surfers Paradise Beach towards Main Beach, or venture south to sightsee Mermaid Beach and Miami Beach before reaching tropical Burleigh Heads.
If taking your bike along isn’t possible, bike hire on the Gold Coast is easily affordable for the whole family, with local options near Boulevard North Apartments, including Cheap As Bike Rentals, Paradise Road Cycles and Happy Hire Gold Coast.
Visit the Gold Coast’s Creeks
For a change of scenery, visit the Gold Coast’s idyllic creeks. Tallebudgera Creek next to Burleigh Head National Park and Currumbin Creek near Palm Beach are superb locations to get outdoors this summer, with both reachable within a short 25-minute drive from our central Broadbeach holiday rentals.
At either creek, swim, fish and tuck into a family picnic at the water’s edge! Take your kayak or hire affordable kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboards locally at Tallebudgera and Currumbin, on which you can float atop the still ocean waters with peaceful rainforest creek views in all directions.
Enjoy the View at the Southport Spit
Head to Main Beach Gold Coast, a short drive past Surfers Paradise, then reach the Southport Spit for fantastic views southwards along the coastline. Where the coast bends, you’ll see Burleigh Head National Park and Coolangatta from vantage points such as Hollindale Park, Philip Park and the Sand Pumping Jetty, which you can enjoy over a stroll or with a quiet picnic on the oceanfront.
While there, view the sparkling marina and its boats at Seaworld Drive, then head to Doug Jennings Park for more sightseeing with views of Wave Break Island and South Straddie – no money spent!

Needless to say, the Gold Coast’s famous beaches are yours to enjoy on your summer holiday at Boulevard North Gold Coast, where sunbathing, swimming, surfing and more require little or no cost at all. With our location, you’ll have direct access to beautiful Kurrawa Beach, including Surfers Paradise Beach, Mermaid Beach and Burleigh Beach within a straight drive.
